Women on Top not Popular in Africa

Well I’m a li’l peeved…I’m living in a country (South Africa) which punts itself amongst the most progressive on the continent – yet only 23% of formal firms are owned by women. I’d say South Africa needs to improve the conditions for female entrepreneurship and be more focused on removing barriers to success. It’s not enough to only empower at a grass roots level, more needs to be done for women who have already figured out how to be active economic agents but cannot access resources for growth and further development.
